Toledo Rockets defensive end Terrance Taylor was ejected from Wednesday night's Mid-American Conference football game against Northern Illinois for one of the nastiest instances of targeting you might ever see.

In the third quarter of Northern Illinois' 31-28 win, Huskies quarterback Ross Bowers kept the ball on a read-option play and rolled out to the left. He slipped on the Glass Bowl's FieldTurf surface. Bowers popped up to his knees, which is when Taylor came sprinting in and made a violent helmet-to-helmet hit from behind. Taylor was called for a personal foul and then ejected from the game.

This is as flagrant a display of targeting as you'll ever see:

Bowers remained in the game and led NIU on a touchdown drive that extended the Huskies' lead to 21-7.

Taylor will miss the first half of Toledo's next game, which is on Nov. 20 at Buffalo.
